Clearly a World War 1 group, but can anyone identify the young men or their Regiments (from the cap badge).

The photograph was taken by Herbert Edward Birdsey, photographer, 63 St Peters Street, St Albans.

When the war broke out the 2nd Division, London Regiment, moved to war stations, with their headquarters in St Albans, so the soldiers may have come from one of the London Territorial Regiments. However, later in the war other units were located in the area.

[Late note: I have now been able to look at a copy of Regimental Badges by Major T J Edwards - and the badge does not match any of the London Regiments]
