Lectures on Local and Family History
I am very happy to give talks on family and local history topics to interested groups.
The following lectures are held on this web site and you can look at them (by clicking their titles) to get a feel for the content of my talks
A Short History of Bernards Heath, St Albans
Poaching and Petty Thieving in the St Albans Area
The Terriers in
West Herts in World War 1
(based on material collected for the book The London Gunners come to Town.
I could give either a general talk or a detailed talk based on individual
chapters.)
I have also given talks on the following subjects
The use of Victorian Newspapers in
local/family history research
(examples selected relevant to the audience - see Old News for some examples)
I will be happy to talk on Family History and the Internet, possibly with an emphasis on the Genealogy in Hertfordshire web site.
===============================
All talks are tailored to the audience, and are presented using an overhead projector to allow more flexibility than slides.
I make a small charge towards the cost of of travel and preparation of the overhead foils.
