Datchworth, west of Watton, is a small place standing high on open ground commanding excellent views; the church (see picture) has a most graceful tower and spire, the latter of the broach type, with lantern on each side.

Some traces of Norman work remain, but the bulk of the fabric is of much later date; the last complete restoration was in 1870.
