Dorothy Stephenson (dstephe127 @t aol.com) writes I was extremely interested to read the pages concerning the Stratton family as I have to confess that I am one of their descendants! My gr-gr-grandmother was the Mary Ann Peacock (nee Denton) who married Joseph Stratton in 1875 and who appears to have become embroiled in his activities. I suspect that Mary Ann's daughter Rose Peacock was Joseph's illegitimate daughter and the information on your web-site points in that direction. I had always had a suspicion that they lived close to the edge and this enlightening article has certainly confirmed that. I would be very happy to be contacted by any of your readers who is also connected to this family.
