The End of an Era

Joseph Stratton died on 10 September 1886 . Age given as 50. Place, St Johns Road [now called Heath Road, Bernards Heath], Sandridge. Occupation given as workman in gas works. Cause of death 'wound of thumb 4 days tetanus 18 hours'.

James Stratton died in the Union Workhouse, St Albans , on 17 July 1887. Cancer of the liver, age stated as 76 years, occupation given as bricklayer's labourer.

DEATHS: STRATTON – March 13, 1899, at Christopher Yard, St Albans , Mary Ann Stratton , aged 64.
