Images of England, funded by English Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund, is a groundbreaking initiative which aims to create a 'point in time' photographic record of England's listed buildings.
It is easy to use, but you need to register (free) before you search for the complete information. At the present time there are a number of listed buildings which have not yet been photographed. It should be noted that the descriptions often contain many specialist architectural terms.
In future postings which involve listed buildings I will include a link to this page, together with the IoE reference number - so that you can look up the detials yourself. This will mean that the information (possibly including photographs) will be updated - which would not happen if I simply copied text or pictures to this web site.
