You would appear to have entered this site without passing through the Home Page, possibly because you were directed to a specific page by a search engine, such as Google, or by a direct link from another web site. Before you proceed further it is important that you understand the nature of this site.

The Genealogy in Hertfordshire web site has been set up to help people who are researching their Hertfordshire ancestors or are researching some aspect of Hertfordshire local History.

The site should be considered to be an educational one, which demonstrates by example. While features such as the tutorial use Hertfordshire based examples much of the material is relevant to family history research anywhere in England.

There are three ways of making contact from this site.

  1. You may email other contributors to the site directly where a modified email address is shown.

  2. The Tell Me facility  allows you tell the Web Master about faults on the web site, or to send additional information about a web page. For instance you may want to report a link to a new village web site which contains useful historical information. It can also be used, for example, to contact the site if you want to send a review copy of a book which you feel should be included on my site,  Basically Tell Me is for messages which do not need a reply beyond a comparatively simple acknowledgement.

  3. The Ask Chris facility must be used if you want the Resident Genealogist to help you with your family or local history research. hours

The site is free, and no charge is made for answering questions, but if you find the information you get from the site useful it is suggested that you make a donation to a mental health charity such as Mind.
