Old Windmills
of Chishill

1977

40 page booklet

"The present windmill is situated just inside the parish of Little Chishill. She stands by the side of the B 1039 road, about three quarters of a mile from Barley and half a mile from Great Chishill, near Royston, Hertfordshire. She has not alway been a Cambridgeshire mill because until 1895 both the parishes of Great and Little Chishill, then spelt 'Chishall', lay in the county of Essex."

Sellars 1676

While this windmill is not in Hertfordshire it is very close to the county boundary and it is such a nice booklet that I have decided to include it.

There is a web page for Barley
