There are 65 listed buildings in Flamstead and this new book
describes them all. In general it takes the form of a catalogue with
the individual buildings appearing alphabetically and there are
expanded entries for both Beechwood (24 pages) and St Leonards (18
pages).
Some duplication of detail with
A New History of Flamstead was
inevitable, but a conscious effort has been made to keep this at a
minimum. In particular, nearly all the 150 photographs are new. The
book has 186 pages and is case bound.
Copies cost £25 and can be collected from 18, Singlets Lane,
Flamstead, but please add £3 for postage and packing if to be sent
by inland post or £5 if to be posted abroad.
In the end 900 copies of A New History of Flamstead were sold, they
went all over the world and orders are still coming in at the rate
of one a month, but it is now out of print. It is not considered
likely that there will be anything like so great a demand for this
new book because its subject matter is so much more specific and so
initially only 200 copies have been printed of which 140 will go to
subscribers. A reprint will, however, be possible if there is
sufficient demand
If you would like a copy please complete the detail below and send
it to Flamstead Society, 18 Singlets Lane, Flamstead, AL3 8EP
together with your remittance.
