I have decided to extend the parish coverage of this web site to include some of the Buckinghamshire parishes around the Tring Salient. The reasons for this are as follows:

I live in Tring and know the nearby parishes well.

I am very interested in transport through the area, including old trackways, the Grand Union Canal and the branches to Wendover and Aylesbury, and the London to Birmingham Railway, including the branch line to Aylesbury.

Not only is the county boundary complex, but an understanding of the long narrow parishes along the edge of the Chiltern Hills makes it easier to understand the history of the area.

A significant number of my ancestors come from Aylesbury, going back some 400 years.
