James Stratton (63), a labourer, known as "Deaf Stratton" appeared before the Liberty Petty Sessions for stealing 6d worth of turnip tops, the property of Mr. Frederick Barford, Townsend Farm, on 6th May. He had only be discharged from prison that morning. His previous offences included a precisely similar offence on 5th October, 1861. Sentenced to six months.
