The  card includes the following printed message: The Canal at Halton, near Wendover, runs through the beautiful estate of Mr. Alfred de Rothschild. A military camp is now situated here, and the estate is being used for Lord Kitchener's New Army.

Sat.   Halton

Dear Mother. Was medically examined again this last Monday. I passed A1. Shall be posted on this next Saturday I think. No leave yet. Passed final exam 58/60. How' that Umpire. Keep this view for me. Q course went to Ayreshire in Scotland. I am in R[?] Love Nilson
