Geograph
This is a major picture resource - which allows people to take pictures and submit them - references by 1 km grid squares. An excellent source of 21st century pictures which show towns, villages and the countryside as they are now.
There appear to be pictures from every square in Hertfordshire - and some squares are very well covered. It is likely that by now all the Parish Churches have been photographed, in many cases with interiors.
To relax I take Franci for a walk every day and early in 2009 I decided to photograph the many footpaths and historical buildings near Tring and post the pictures on Geograph, with historical notes where relevant.
Where appropriate selected pictures will be used to expand the information available on this web site, and it may be possible to provide pictures of named buildings, etc., on request.
